ASHRAE Government Affairs Mission Statement:

“To establish ASHRAE as a leading source for expertise in the built environment and a resource for policy-makers in the development of legislation and regulations affecting the public, the HVAC&R community, and the engineering profession.”

Government Affairs Chapter Chairs are the Frontline Representatives of ASHRAE Standards, Guidelines, Public Policy Information Briefs (PPIB’s), Public Policy Priorities (PPP’s), Position Documents (PD’s), and Task Forces, to Government Officials and entities.

My role is to motivate, encourage, and assist Government Affairs Chapter Chairs within the region to conduct Government Outreach at all levels of government. I provide training and planning sessions to GAC’s, as well as promote and assist them to form GA Committees within their own Chapter. Government Affairs Chapter Chairs are the frontline representatives of ASHRAE Standards, Guidelines, Public Policy Information Briefs (PPIB’s), Public Policy Priorities (PPP’s), Position Documents (PD’s), and Task Forces, to Government Officials and entities.
