The Regional Chair is a Director of Society who directs the regional operations for the region. This includes detailing objectives and giving assistance to the RVCs, as well as the Regional Treasurer and Regional Historian.
The DRC shall also coordinate regional activities with the Region Members Council Representative (RMCR) and help the existing chapters in the region. The DRC is a member of the ASHRAE Board of Directors, and represents the interests of the region in all matters of Society importance.

The Region Members Council Representative (RMCR) is a member of Members Council and is responsible to represent the region in deliberations of the Council; to provide written reports to the Members Council on activities of the chapters in the region; to recommend the formation of new chapters, sections and student branches in the region and participate in the action of the Members Council. The RMCR shall coordinate and communicate with the DRC all Members Council activities as they relate to the region and its chapters.

The Regional Treasurer is responsible for the receipt, safekeeping, and disbursement of regional funds and for maintaining detailed financial records. They are responsible for preparing the annual budget for the region, which covers all expenditures approved by the Region, and calculating the chapter regional assessments. The annual budget is presented to the delegates at the CRC Business Meeting and approved prior to the new fiscal year.

I am the Regional Alternate member for Nominating, which is the “back-up” person for the Nominating member. The nominating committee runs the caucus meeting at the annual Chapters Regional Conference (CRC) along with our Chapter Delegates & Alternates to choose the future Regional and Society leaders. Nominating is also involved at the society level working with the other Regional Nominating members to vote for the future society leaders based on the names put forward by all Regional CRCs.

My role is to motivate, encourage, and assist Government Affairs Chapter Chairs within the region to conduct Government Outreach at all levels of government. I provide training and planning sessions to GAC’s, as well as promote and assist them to form GA Committees within their own Chapter. Government Affairs Chapter Chairs are the frontline representatives of ASHRAE Standards, Guidelines, Public Policy Information Briefs (PPIB’s), Public Policy Priorities (PPP’s), Position Documents (PD’s), and Task Forces, to Government Officials and entities.
